Trials Bikes

Below are some recommended bikes for Trials riding. Please check the bike classes at the bottom of this page to make sure that you are able to enter your bike into competitions.

Bike Classes

The table below shows the class of rider depending on their birthday.

Solo Trials Championship

Class E Pre-Cadet Electric Class	Minimum age 4 years at the date of the competition and born after 1st January 2005	Electric powered machines up to 1200 watts*
Class D	Cadets born between 1st January 2002 and 31st December 2004	50 cc Mono /80ccTwinshock &Electric up to 1200 watts –Small wheels
Class C	Juniors born between 1st January 1999 and 31st December 2001	80cc – Medium Wheels & Electric up to 1200 watts
Class B	Inters born between 1st January 1996 and 31st December 1998	125cc
Class A	Seniors born between 1st January 1994 and 31st December 1995	125cc

*Organisers have the option of splitting the E class by wheel – size classes

Wheel Sizes

Standard Wheel - 21" Front - 18" Rear

Medium Wheel - 19" Front - 17" Rear

Small Wheel - 16" Front - 14" Rear

 

The above is based on the wheels of combustion engined machines using motorcycle tyres.If
other wheels are used as on current Electric powered machines then the outside diameter (total
circumference) of the tyre must not exceed that of the corresponding tyre size
Standard rebores are permitted subject to the resulting engine capacity.
